THE SURROUNDINGS OF WERFENWENG HAVE MANY UNIQUE DESTINATIONS TO OFFER

Eisriesenwelt Werfen

The largest ice cave on earth promises a very special experience on hot summer days.

ATTENTION: Tickets must be purchased online!

Hohenwerfen Castle

Castle tours, weapons exhibitions and the fascinating bird of prey flight demonstrations await you. This attraction is only a stone’s throw away and is open from April to October/early November. For more information please click here.

FIS Landesskimuseum Werfenweng

Experience ski history up close right next to the hotel!

From the first wooden boards to today’s high-tech double-decker performance racing skis, you can marvel at everything related to this popular winter sport in the Ski Museum. There’s plenty for non-skiers to admire, too, because the ten-person ski will make even them smile.

Recommended as a change from the mountain experience and also on bad weather days, there is plenty to discover and experience for the whole family. There is a reduced admission with the Werfenweng Card!

City of Mozart Salzburg, cultural and shopping excursion

Enjoy the unique flair of the world-famous Mozart city just 30 minutes away.

  • Old Town with Getreidegasse, Cathedral Square and Residence Square
  • Fortress Hohensalzburg
  • House of Nature
  • Toy Museum
  • Mozart’s Birthplace
  • etc.

Tip: Our partner business Café Glockenspiel by Felleis & Knittelfelder on one of the most beautiful squares in the world, Mozartplatz directly in Salzburg’s old town, offers a cosy atmosphere and the best confectionery craftsmanship.

Between Hermes, Prada & Vuitton you will find the Osteria Patricio Fellini, Dolce Vita in the middle of the old town.

The right place for gourmets is the Geheime Specerey, here you will find perhaps the best steak in Salzburg with a delicate nutty taste, the original “Salzacher” sausage, specialties from our own pasture pig, Italian and Austrian wines and much more.

Salzburg Salt Worlds in Bad Dürrnberg

Not far from us is one of the world’s oldest exhibition mines. Salt, inconspicuous and yet such a generous gift of nature, has been hidden deep in the mountain for millions of years.

Today, the mine is one of the tourist highlights of the region: two long miners’ slides, an underground raft ride across the salt lake and fast-paced rides on the mine train delight visitors.

Salzburg Zoo

The unique zoo landscape on Hellbrunn Hill with the steep rock face on one side and the hilly foothills into the floodplain on the other is home to around 1200 wild animals at Salzburg Zoo.

Native and exotic animal species – from the alpine ibex to the zebra mongoose – live in near-natural, spacious enclosures on the approximately 14-hectare zoo grounds.

Spas and baths in Salzburgerland

Not far from Werfenweng there are numerous thermal spas, bathing and sauna facilities.

  • Therme Amadé in Altenmarkt im Pongau
  • Aqua Salza in Golling
  • Alpentherme Gastein
  • Water World Wagrain
